Mizuhiki knots originate from Japan, signifies a bond between people and these knots often time convey a sense of gratitude and well wishes when presented as a gift. In Japanese culture, knots are essential means of imbuing hearts and souls.
With sustainability in mind, OH!Mizuhiki Knotted Bookmarks are made from the delicate fabrics from OtherHalf’s recent project OH!Tenang and our current running art installation, Seek & You Shall Find. These bookmarks are weaved with another textile collaborator’s fabric as a way of sharing space with another collaborator to be part of this meaningful project.
We hope by bringing in collaborators, we would be able to share the meaningful works our collaborators do and their stories with our friends and community at OtherHalf as well.
If you would like to also create meaning with us by donating us your textile, you are welcome to connect with us!
